My Story

Hi! I am Ali Frendin. I currently live in the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, where we are very spoilt with trails, bushlands and beaches. I come from an active family, and had a “fit” childhood. In 2006, I became a certified Personal Trainer.

After having my first baby in 2011, I was disappointed by the lack of quality postnatal exercise being offered in fitness centres. I began Pilates classes simply to rehab my own core and pelvic floor, and soon studied and became a qualified instructor.

Since then, Ali has connected with leading professionals in the Women’s Health industry and has undertaken and abundance of courses in this area (and continues to).  This education and mentoring has helped her navigate through her own pelvic organ prolapse diagnosis after the birth of her second baby and learn solutions to remain active and competitive.

I created Real Fitness for Mums because I noticed a need – no, I HAD A NEED. I needed someone to guide me more fully during pregnancy and postpartum in the gym (trainers need trainers too!). I have endeavoured to make this hard to find and accurate information on pelvic and core health and all things pregnancy and postpartum available to women all over the world via the Ultimate Core Restore ebooks. They have been filling the gap in the fitness industry since 2016 for women having a baby and returning to sport and exercise.

The ebooks are exercise guides centreing around managing Diastasis Recti (DRA), strengthening the pelvic floor and also on building a foundation of strength and conditioning to meet the demands of motherhood and for those wanting to return to their previous level of athleticism.

She is on a mission to be the best in understanding the deep physical and mental challenges associated with pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Currently she is also studying to become a Doula.
